The Winds Of Change
Updated: Aug 23, 2021

Impermanence is the big elephant in the room
We can’t seem to accept the fact that nothing in this world lasts forever
That the only guarantee is perpetual change
See, if you put all your hopes in the promise of this world
Then you’re bound to be disappointed
Because in this world, everything perishes
In this life, you and everything you know is now dispensable.
But if you can bring yourself to see beyond, you’ll realise that it doesn’t have to be this way
If you can commit yourself to a higher standard
A better way of being in the world
Then true conviction can alone endure
Established values can endure
Real Love always endures
And real Life continues to endure.
But it’s when you reject all these things, that you subject yourself to the perils of impermanence
Moving in and out of transient relationships
Pinning your hopes on transient feelings and emotions
On transient people and things
On transient interests and passions
On transient spiritual beliefs and practices
When you do that, you commit yourself to death, not life.
To the temporary, not the eternal
My point is, if you want Life, real Life,
Then you need to ground yourself in something immoveable and unchangeable
Anchor your life in something reliable, dependable
Something that you can trust and that won’t let you down
This is The Way.
It was around before you got here and it will be around long after you’re gone.
