The Heavy Burden
Updated: Jan 3, 2020

With life, comes a heavy burden.
Because with life, comes inevitable loss, everything is in fact temporary
Nothing, in this life at least, lasts forever.
It’s a sobering truth; no one wants to hear it, but its true non-the less.
The only question then is, what do you do about it?
As I see it, you’ve got two options –
The first is to make the most of the opportunities you’ve been given
To accept the heavy burden which comes with life and use it as a springboard to carry you to new heights.
Physically, emotionally and spiritually
The other is to live in denial, wasting your life away, convinced that you’re going to live forever.
Stuck in your comfort zone, not asking much of yourself or of those around you.
The issue then is one of attitude.
To accept whole-heartedly and with gratitude the cards you’ve been dealt, or alternatively;
To maintain a sense of entitlement, living from a place filled with bitterness and resentment.
For with the first comes humility and with the other is pride
With one comes a growth mindset and with the other a fixed
With one there is a sense of vulnerability, acceptance and with the other ego and denial.
One leads you down the path of victimhood; whilst with the other to a sense of empowerment in assuming full responsibility for the things you do have some control over.
So then, the burden will be there whether you like it or not, so accept it, take it upon yourself and carry it with everything you’ve got.
Make it your purpose in life to do the best you possibly can in every situation
Knowing full well, that you’ll probably fall short, but that it’s only by carrying the weight that you’re going to be able to build the strength.
