A Fork In The Road
Updated: Jan 3
Life doesn’t just happen in an instant; it has this way of unfolding before you,
Revealing itself, a little at a time, bit-by-bit, moment-by-moment.
There are no guarantees in life, only opportunities
And each opportunity, each moment, is filled with inherent potential
But instead of embracing it we’ve come to simply accept things as they are
Surrendering our will to our circumstances, indifferent, distracted.
Numbing ourselves to what is actually possible, akin to a kind of spiritual death.
It's this ignorance that essentially robs each moment of its potential.
A kind of avoidance, a failing to show up, failing to live up to what life is demanding of you.
We need to remind ourselves constantly that each and every moment presents a fork in the road
A proverbial sliding doors moment.
You can go left, or you can go right.
You can say yes (consent), or you can say no (dissent).
You can act, or sit idly and watch life pass you by
One moment, one choice, one micro decision literally has the potential to change the course of your whole life.
But we often forget that, we fail realise it and we continue to live in sort of denial,
never fully comprehending the power that you hold right at your fingertips.
So what I tell you is - approach each moment with the care it deserves,
because each moment calls on you to be something, to be someone.
If you’re struggling to find purpose, then start here.
In each moment and in realising that what you do will send ripples through the time
And what you don’t do in that instant, is essentially potential unrealised
I will leave you with this from 'the road less travelled' , something for you to contemplate:
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference..." - Robert Frost
