Certainty is not something that’s given to you; it’s something you create.
It’s not about knowing something for certain, it’s about doing something with what you do know.
It’s about turning indecision into decision.
Making a choice, when you’ve laid all the options out before your self.
Certainty is as much a state of mind, as it is a resolution.
It’s the sense you get when you know exactly what you’re dealing with.
When you’ve made a commitment to something.
A commitment to the kind of person you want to be.
A commitment to stay at your job or quit it.
A commitment to keep dealing with this person or cut them off.
A commitment to travel or stay put.
A commitment to set up a business or to wait.
To stay or to walk away.
Commitments are what ultimately help you create certainty and following through on them will only help reinforce it.
Sure, there will be plenty of doubts along the way, that’s normal. But letting those doubts linger to a point that drives you back into a state of hesitation, denial, uncertainty, indecision and non-commitment will only breed more chaos.
You have a choice and you have a responsibility.
Certainty is there for you to take, your job is to be decisive about it and go. You can figure the rest out as it unfolds.
The best that you can do is deal with what’s directly in front of you, based on what you know right now and then do that to the best of your ability.
You can’t expect any more from yourself.
You live and you learn, maybe just do it better next time if need be.
Point is, there is no reason to live in a constant state of uncertainty, because this is something that is totally within your grasp.
Might be wise to also remember, that indecision, is in fact, a decision in itself.
